Global private equity firm Blackstone Inc. announced on Monday that its real estate arm, Blackstone Real Estate Partners LP, has acquired two logistics centers in the Seoul metropolitan area through QUBE Industrial Asset Management Co.

The facilities, both last-mile logistics centers designed for delivery to end users, are located in Gimpo and Namyangju in Gyeonggi Province. Together, they have a total floor area of approximately 120,000 square meters.

The centers are leased to leading domestic and international e-commerce and logistics companies, providing a stable rental income base, according to Blackstone.

Since establishing its Korean real estate investment team three years ago, Blackstone has been strengthening its presence in the local market.

“Logistics is one of Blackstone’s key real estate investment themes in global markets, including Korea,” said Kim Tae-lae, head of Blackstone Real Estate Korea. “In particular, last-mile logistics centers in the Seoul metropolitan area are highly attractive assets due to extremely limited new supply and low vacancy rates of around 4 percent.”

He added that Blackstone aims to deliver real value to investors and pursue sustainable, long-term growth in Korea by leveraging its global platform, operational expertise, and strong local market understanding.
